The Blue Spotted Salamander is a carnivore and main diet consists of small and invertebrate animals. This consists of: Many insects, earthworms, snails, slugs, spiders and centipedes. The Spotted Salamanders have also been known to eat isopods (pill bugs), land slugs and snails. The Spotted Salamanders also feed on spiders by scooping out around, under, or near rotting wood.
